Q-REstrain® Therapy
At Mary-Beth Charno, NP, PLLC Integrative Medicine, we offer advanced, personalized therapies designed to support patients dealing with complex and persistent infections.
Q-REstrain® is a targeted, laboratory-guided therapy developed by RGCC that works with your own immune system to help address chronic viral and bacterial burdens.
What is Q-REstrain®?
Q-REstrain® is an innovative therapy based on a technology known as Supportive Oligonucleotide Technique (SOT). This approach was originally studied in cancer research and has been adapted to support the treatment of chronic infections.
It works by helping your body more precisely recognize and respond to infections that may be contributing to ongoing symptoms.
How It Works
Q-REstrain® works at the level of microbial genetics:
Bacteria and viruses rely on genetic material (DNA or RNA) to survive and replicate
A highly specific, lab-designed RNA sequence (called an oligonucleotide) is created to match the targeted organism
This sequence binds to the organism’s genetic material
Once bound, it interferes with the organism’s ability to produce essential proteins
In simple terms:
It helps slow or stop the ability of microbes to replicate, allowing your immune system to regain control.
This is often described as a precision or “lock-and-key” approach, targeting specific organisms without broadly affecting the rest of the body.
Why This Approach Matters
Chronic infections are often difficult to fully resolve because:
Microbes may persist long-term in the body
They can evade or outlast conventional therapies
Some hide within cells or protective biofilms
Q-REstrain® is designed to:
Reduce microbial activity at its source
Lower overall infectious burden
Support more effective immune system function
The goal is not just eradication, but restoring balance between the body and the infection.
Who May Benefit
Q-REstrain® may be considered for individuals experiencing:
Chronic Lyme and tick-borne illness
Persistent viral infections (such as EBV or HSV reactivation)
Post-infectious fatigue or neurologic symptoms
Complex, multi-system illness with suspected infectious drivers
What to Expect
The process typically includes:
Initial consultation and clinical assessment
Blood draw
Laboratory processing and custom design (several weeks)
In-office IV infusion
Ongoing follow-up and monitoring
The infusion is generally well tolerated and performed in a comfortable, supervised setting.
Potential Benefits
Supports more precise immune system targeting
May reduce symptoms such as fatigue, brain fog, and pain
Can complement antimicrobial and integrative therapies
May help in cases where progress has plateaued
Individual responses vary.
Safety & Considerations
Some patients experience mild fatigue or flu-like symptoms
Temporary symptom flares may occur as part of immune activation
Q-REstrain® is not FDA-approved as a drug
Best used as part of a comprehensive, integrative care plan
Our Integrative Approach
We incorporate Q-REstrain® into a broader care model that may include:
IV nutrient therapy
Ozone therapy
Hormonal and metabolic optimization
Gut and immune system support
Our goal is to address both the infection and the terrain in which it exists, supporting long-term healing.
