COVID Syndromes
My Experience Treating Patients With COVID-19
I had been on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic since its earliest days in January 2020, adopting safe and effective early treatments when few others would. Over the course of the pandemic, I have treated hundreds of patients, following carefully outlined protocols developed by the former Front Line COVID-19 Critical Care Alliance (FLCCC) newly reorganized to Independent Medical Alliance.
In the early days of the Delta variant, patients were scared and underserved. To meet the need, I began offering telemedicine visits so that people could access therapies that were showing promise in both prevention and early treatment, even as media outlets and health agencies discouraged their use.
Since that time, we have learned much more about how to treat both the viral stage of COVID and the later inflammatory stage.
What Is Long-Haul COVID?
Long-Haul COVID — sometimes called Post-Acute Sequelae of SARS-CoV-2 infection (PASC) — often resembles Long-Haul Lyme (Chronic Lyme disease) in its presentation.
Common features include:
Immune dysregulation
Persistent inflammation
Debilitating symptoms that can last for months or years
In both conditions, I believe prevention and early treatment are key to reducing long-term disability. When patients are supported with safe and effective early therapies, outcomes are consistently better.
Post-Vaccine (Post-Jab) Complications
Some patients experience a post-inflammatory response following COVID vaccination. This may include atypical neurologic symptoms. Unfortunately, because standard clinical testing often comes back “normal,” these patients are frequently dismissed or gaslit by the medical establishment and left without treatment options.
Why Care Is So Limited
The current healthcare system often denies the reality of Long-Haul COVID and post-vaccine injury. Concrete solutions are rarely offered, leaving patients to suffer without support.
But helpful treatments are emerging, and recovery is possible. Above all — there is hope.
Diagnostic Testing
Testing often includes specialized laboratory panels to better understand immune dysregulation. One example is Dr. Bruce Patterson’s 14-point cytokine panel, which evaluates inflammatory markers that can guide treatment decisions in Long-Haul COVID and related conditions.
This type of testing, combined with a thorough clinical assessment, helps identify the pathways driving ongoing symptoms so that treatment can be personalized and targeted.
Treatment may include:
Off-label medications
Over-the-counter therapies
Nutritional and integrative approaches
