About Mary-Beth
Mary-Beth Charno, RN, MSN, ANP-C earned her Master’s degree in Advanced Practice Nursing from Stony Brook University and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Pace University. She brings over a decade of experience in oncology nursing, beginning her career at the bedside caring for acutely ill cancer patients in hospital settings. She later advanced to the role of Certified Chemotherapy Nurse, providing outpatient oncology care at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Monter Cancer Center.
A particularly formative period of her career was spent as Nurse Manager at an integrative cancer center on Long Island, where she gained extensive experience in complementary and metabolic oncology approaches, including insulin potentiation therapy, intravenous nutrient therapy, ozone therapy, ultraviolet blood irradiation, and individualized nutritional strategies. This role broadened her perspective on integrative and functional approaches to healing and ultimately led her to pursue formal training through The Institute for Functional Medicine, where she began her studies in functional medicine.
Early in her career, Mary-Beth became Board Certified as a Holistic Nurse through the American Holistic Nurses Association, a foundation that continues to inform and shape her patient-centered approach to care. She has lectured at nursing grand rounds, professional conferences, and wellness retreats, educating clinicians and organizations on the integration of holistic principles into patient care—for both patients and healthcare providers.
As a nurse practitioner, Mary-Beth trained alongside leading clinicians in complex chronic illness, including Dr. Richard Horowitz, where she studied the MSIDS (Multiple Systemic Infectious Disease Syndrome) model for Lyme disease; Dr. Neil Nathan, focusing on the evaluation and treatment of complex mold toxicity and biotoxin-related illness; Dr. Joseph Jemsek, learning his polymicrobial, pulsed-antibiotic treatment strategies; and Dr. Maurice Beer, under whom she further refined her functional medicine expertise. These mentorships form the foundation of her current clinical protocols.
